Progress

Antelope Canyon & Monument Valley

On our way to New Mexico today we stopped at two Navajo parks, Antelope Canyon and Monument Valley in Arizona/Utah.

Antelope Canyon

Monument Valley

Glen Canyon - Lake Powell

Yesterday we kayaked in Lake Powell and camped on the beach at Lone Rock in Utah. Guillermo was mesmerized by the dam and besides some strong wind and a warning about scorpions, we had a great time kayaking in the canyon!

Our view from the tent in the morning.

Grand Canyon

We hiked down the South Kaibab trail yesterday when we got to the park (not all the way to the river, hopefully some other time) but to 'Ooh Aah Point' - the first point where you can see the east on the trail. We camped at Mathers Campground inside the park last night and we're going to head to Page, AZ and Lake Powell today. We'll hopefully have enough time to get a paddle in!

Made it to Arizona!

We just crossed the Colorado River, north of Yuma in Arizona.

Joshua Tree

We arrived at Joshua Tree after dark at the onset of the weekend yet we found the sweetest camp spot...#54 in the Jumbo Rocks campground. We had chinese take-out and wine by the fire.

Sunrise from our campsite.

So Cal

Our first stop, camping at a beach south of Los Angeles.

Slept with the sound of the waves, and an occasional freight train.

In the morning we headed to the the city of stars. Venice beach and Hollywood!!
