We are on the final lag of the southwest portion of our trip, tomorrow we head to Oklahoma. Today in Santa Fe we visited the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum and happened upon a gallery showing Lisa Kristine's photography - amazing.
Yesterday we kayaked in Lake Powell and camped on the beach at Lone Rock in Utah. Guillermo was mesmerized by the dam and besides some strong wind and a warning about scorpions, we had a great time kayaking in the canyon!
We hiked down the South Kaibab trail yesterday when we got to the park (not all the way to the river, hopefully some other time) but to 'Ooh Aah Point' - the first point where you can see the east on the trail. We camped at Mathers Campground inside the park last night and we're going to head to Page, AZ and Lake Powell today. We'll hopefully have enough time to get a paddle in!
We arrived at Joshua Tree after dark at the onset of the weekend yet we found the sweetest camp spot...#54 in the Jumbo Rocks campground. We had chinese take-out and wine by the fire.
